These two Outdoor Council of Canada Get Outside technical skills courses are combined into one fun weekend of learning and activities. This course is open to everyone and there are no prerequisites required.  Beginner friendly and comprehensive, this course goes into detail on canadian topographic maps (NTS) and how to obtain them. Topics include route planning, elevation calculations, taking a bearing, following a bearing, setting declination + calculations, navigating with a bearing from off of a map, navigating a bearing onto a map, resection (aka triangulation, aka where the heck am I excercise) and of course practical orienteering practice.
