Field Leader Hiking

This nationally recognized course will provide participants with Outdoor Council of Canada (OCC) training in Field Leader and allow the Field Leader to lead in low-risk terrain as defined by the OCC. The course will be delivered by two OCC certified instructors.
Course Info: The course length is 14 hours (7 in classroom and 7 outside.)
To be leaders, participants should have some hiking experience and be able to participate in a low risk natural environment hike on a designated trail while carrying what they will need for the day outside. Participants must have the physical ability to hike on a footpath with rocks and roots, etc. Participants are required to read a manual beforehand.
Further course information will be provided upon registration. Participants are responsible for their own accommodation, meals and transportation.
This course will be offered on two days. The first day is Sunday, February 8, 8:30am to 4:30pm and the second day will be Friday February 13, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
