Students will complete both the OCC Field Leader Hiking and Field Leader Winter Course in our special Winter 2024 Series – Preparing for the future!
Course requires 2 days hands on training over the weekend and 1 evening online/on-call training + homework assignment (3-5hrs). Students that have completed their FL hiking course will only need to attend the 2 day course over the weekend.
The course will also include information on traveling in Bear County summer/winter and hands-on wildlife encounter training, basic tracking skills, and wildlife signs identification.
Both courses will be hands-on outdoors both days. Outdoor classrooms, onsite backcountry training. Course will include small hikes each day roughly 4-5 miles total daily.
