To promote and enable outdoor education and activity
The Community Sport Hub is aiming to engage the communities in the NE Calgary area in learning about the outdoors. We will be teaching youth orienteering, basic map reading, what to pack in a backpack, shelter building, and how to dress for the outdoors. The program will finish with an overnight trip to Camp Riveredge in Calgary on June 28th.
For This Thursday:
Have you ever wondered how to find your way around in the wilderness? What if you only have your map and compass to figure out where you are? Join us for this exciting evening with the Alberta Orienteering Group and discover a new way to explore the outdoors. Locate beacons around the park and race against other teams to find them the fastest! On this night we will also be looking at plants and trees, and learning about how they interact with one another, and with us as well. What kinds of trees do you have in your backyard? What does that mean? We have a great activity for this as well for you to enjoy! See you on Thursday!
For Grade 6 and older.
